At the Beaumont
hospitals, the majority of Primary Care physicians work with Hospitalists to
admit patients that require hospital care. Hospitalists are a relatively new
specialty that was created to improve the process of admitting and caring for
hospitalized patients. They are at the hospital all day long and therefore can
be more responsive to patients than the doctor that "rounds" in the
morning but then spends his / her day at the office. In these economically challenging
times for health care, this system is also more efficient. The hospitalists
that PMG partners with are in close contact with us (your doctors) so that we
work as a team to care for you whether you are at home, in our office or in the
hospital.
