Medication Refills:
We are now "e-prescribing" or emailing your prescriptions to your
local and mail order pharmacies. Regarding medication refills: Due to
as many as 100 calls per day for routine prescription refills, we are now
trying to eliminate the need for these calls by providing you with the refills
you will need while you are seeing the doctor so they will be current until your next appointment.
As we move toward that goal, if refills are needed and you do not think we will
require an appointment to see you, please leave your message and allow for 3
business days. When we will be phoning in your prescription refills,
please don’t forget to: speak slowly & clearly spell both your name and the
name of the medication leave your pharmacy phone number—including the area
code. Our doctors have provided the nursing staff specific guidelines on which
medicines we will allow them to approve over the phone. This will save you and
us time. Thanks for your understanding.
Note: WE REGRET THAT MANY MEDICINES ARE NO LONGER " A
COVERED BENEFIT" DUE TO INSURANCE COMPANY RESTRICTIONS-OFTEN DUE TO
EXPENSE. IN MOST CASES, WE MUST ABIDE BY THEIR RULES AND WE CANNOT
"PRE-AUTHORIZE" OR OTHERWISE CONVINCE THEM TO PAY FOR DEVIATIONS FROM
THEIR LIST OF COVERED MEDICINES. THIS IS AN INSURANCE COMPANY ECONOMIC ISSUE
AND WE ARE BOUND BY THEIR RULES.
