Referreals / Authorizations:
We understand that referrals are an inconvenience to everyone. Because the process is complex and time consuming for us to complete, we ask that you give us at least 1 week to 10 days PRIOR to your appointment.
Emergency referrals will be handled as quickly as possible but remember that your health is more important than economics so in true emergencies we advise that you follow the rules of your insurer as best you can but do not let them adversely affect your care.
It is your responsibility to pick up your referral and take it to your appointment. We have found that this is the best way to be sure that your referral physician or other provider will have what they require to see you. When requesting a referral from us, please provide the following information so we may process your referral:
-Your first and last name (please be sure to spell your last name).
-Your phone number.
-The name & city of the doctor to whom you would like referral.
If you will be seen at Beaumont Hospital, let us know if it is at Royal Oak or Troy. Please know we most sincerely appreciate your patience and understand your potential frustration. In advance, we thank you for your cooperation.
